Children AIDS Day Photo 1

Children’s AIDS Day will be a historic day, a day when children & youth around the world who have been impacted by HIV/AIDS, will be honored.

As our good friend and colleague Kelly McCann has said, "No one organization can do it all and the power of the many is greater than the power of the few". Therefore, the success of Children's AIDS Day will be the collaborative efforts of many people, AIDS Organizations, and corporations who want to make a difference in the lives of HIV/AIDS impacted children worldwide.

The great state of Texas and the wonderful multicultural city of Houston will host the first historical annual International Children's AIDS Day Conference. The Children's AIDS Day Conference is about putting the spotlight on the children who have been impacted by HIV/AIDS and bringing together a team of elite speakers from the field Medicine, Psychiatry, Legal, Social Services, Political Leaders, Entertainers, HIV/AIDS Activist, and others.

Although, there has been a tremendous amount of work done, millions of dollars raised and amazing results have been accomplished to better the lives of those infected with the HIV virus in the last twenty-five plus years. The time is now to focus on the needs of the children, their psychiatric needs, medical needs, social needs, and to move towards ending the stigma & discrimination they face. This disease is not their fault and if we don’t help them-who will?

The reason Children’s AIDS Day is so important, since the advent of HIV/AIDS there has been very little focus on the children & youth, there hasn’t been a day where we focus entirely on the children. When one reflects on all the things said and done in the name of HIV/AIDS it is typically void of the children.

Therefore, we proclaim February 12th Children’s AIDS Day.
